Be At One bucks winter gloom with record December sales
Cocktail bar chain Be At One has reported a record Christmas period, with total sales up 21.7% to £834,952 in December compared with the previous year.
The company, which has 10 sites across London, also saw like-for-like sales grow 11.1% to £762,422.
The performance was helped by the addition of 10 winter cocktails to Be At One's standard range of 190. Drinks included Winter Punch (a blend of dark rum, blackcurrant liqueur, apple juice, orange bitters, garnished with a cinnamon orange slice) and Hells Bells (Drambuie liqueur flavoured with orange and cherry, cranberry juice, fresh nutmeg and orange bitters).
Meanwhile, Be At One is now set to undergo a refurbishment across the estate to update the look and feel of the venues. Its Putney site was the first to close for the works on New Year's Day and will reopen on 13 January.
The group also plans to open another two outlets before the end of March this year, with a further five expected for 2011.
Rhys Oldfield, co-founder of Be At One, said: "This has been another fantastic period for Be At One. Londoners have defied snow and helped us produce record numbers over both Christmas and New Year. This result underlines that our strategy of delivering consistently great cocktails, excellent service and classic tunes is as relevant now as ever.
"2011 is going to be an exciting period for Be At One with more new sites and an extensive refurbishment programme of our existing estate."
