US chicken chain Wingstop is to open three further UK restaurants this year.
The group has secured sites in Birmingham, Reading and Bristol’s Cabot Circus shopping centre, with CDG Leisure acting on its behalf.
Wingstop was founded in Texas in 1994 and began franchising in 1997. It now operates more than 1,500 restaurants in locations including the US, Mexico, Singapore and France.
The group launched a flagship UK site on London’s Shaftesbury Avenue in 2018 and has since opened dine-in restaurants in Dalston, South Kensington and the Bluewater shopping centre in Dartford. It also runs delivery kitchens across London and in Birmingham.
Menu items include bone-in and boneless chicken wings and tenders available in 11 flavours ranging from a spicy 'atomic’ variety to mild garlic parmesan.
Speaking to The Caterer in 2018, chief executive Charlie Morrison said the chain was looking to open 100 locations in international markets by 2030.
