Vagabond, Pure and London Shell Co to open at Paddington Central

Three new food and drink outlets are set to open at the mixed-use neighbourhood site Paddington Central in London.

Seafood restaurant London Shell Co is set to launch a second, static barge called the Grand Duchess on the Grand Union Canal to join its cruising Prince Regent barge; while wine bar brand Vagabond will open canalside. Meanwhile, healthy food chain Pure will join Department of Coffee and Social Affairs, Coco Di Mama and Lords of Poké in Kingdom Street.

Since acquiring Paddington Central in 2013, British Land has invested nearly £100m into the transformation of the space.

Harry and Leah Lobek, co-founders of London Shell Co, said: "We are so excited to open our second boat at Paddington. The Grand Duchess will remain permanently docked on the canal and specialise in British fish with a drinks list that focuses on sparkling wines."

Stephen Finch, founder and managing director of Vagabond, said: "With a compelling density of office workers and residents in the immediate area, set against the lovely Grand Union Canal and adjacent to several major transportation links, we have no doubt Vagabond will smash it right off the bat."

Tim Haddon, head of Paddington Central at British Land, added: "London Shell Co's expansion and Vagabond's arrival will provide further enlivenment along the canal and boost the neighbourhood's seven day-a-week offering."
