Private members' club Home Grown has appointed Sophie Chaney as its general manager, ahead of its opening on Great Cumberland Place in London's Marylebone in January 2019.
Home Grown will sit across four Grade II-listed, four-storey Georgian townhouses covering 26,000 sq ft and is being developed by the team behind nearby members' club Home House.
Chaney will lead on all operations at the new venue, which aims to bring together entrepreneurs, investors and business innovators from a wide range of sectors, industries and countries.
Previously operations director at WSH Group's Portico, she will oversee a team of 100 staff working at the club's restaurants, bars, 35 bedrooms, as well as on its events programme.
She will also be responsible for business development, procurement, membership, recruitment and training.
Home Grown will offer a business learning events programme, designed to help members grow and develop their businesses through collaborations with investors and like-minded individuals. The programme will include sector specific networking evenings, talks by renowned business leaders, mentoring sessions, leadership forums, and invititation-only ‘entrepreneur-meet-investor' suppers.
Andrew Richardson, managing director of Home House and Home Grown, said: "We are delighted to have Sophie Chaney on board as we work towards the opening of Home Grown in January 2019. Sophie's extensive knowledge of both the hospitality and client services industries means she is perfectly placed to lead on the opening of London's newest private members' club."
Chaney said: "I am excited to join the team at Home House, a company which I have watched and admired throughout my years in the industry. I look forward to launching Home Grown, and bringing together investors and entrepreneurs in this unique new space."
