Modular spa to open at Fishmore Hall

The three-red-AA-star, 15-bedroom Fishmore Hall hotel in Ludlow, Shropshire, is to open what will be the first modular spa from a company that has been developing traditional spas for more than 20 years.

SPAshell is being launched by Spa Creators, which has previously been responsible for designing the spas such as those at Ellenborough Park in Cheltenham and the Royal Crescent hotel in Bath.

The new product will be available with either four or six treatment rooms, alongside a sauna, steam rooms, relaxation lounge and outdoor vitality pool. Each unit will be clad in Siberian larch wood, while inside Elemis will provide the spa products.

Each spa comes with a management contract, which includes fully trained staff.

The spa at Fishmore Hall will feature four treatment rooms and will be supplied fully operational, including IT systems. An eight-treatment spa over two floors will cost around £975,000.

Laura Penman, owner of Fishmore Hall, said that the development of a spa was the "obvious next step" in the development of the hotel. "The beauty of SPAshell is that it provides us with all the elements required to create a successful spa: from design and site development stages, through to delivery and commissioning; all building works are completed off-site using the latest technology," she explained.

"There's no need for traditional foundation-work to be done, the installation of SPAshell takes a matter of a few days, and there's almost no disturbance to our existing business and our guests."

Alistair Johnson, managing director of Spa Creators, said that SPAshell had taken five years to develop. "The SPAshell build offers a brilliant solution for any boutique hotel or corporate business looking to add spa and wellness packages to their business and provide an additional revenue stream."
