June 2020 confirmed as opening date of the Pig in Cornwall

Home Grown Hotels has confirmed that it will open its seventh hotel in Cornwall in June 2020.

The 30-bedroom the Pig at Harlyn Bay will be located within a Grade II-listed house dating back to the 16th century, with features from medieval, Jacobean and Georgian periods.

The hotel is located within nearly five acres of gardens close to beaches in Constantine Bay, within walking distance of the village of Harlyn.

Robin Hutson, chairman and chief executive of Home Grown Hotels, said: “This is among the very best of the coastal settings anywhere in Cornwall, with immediate access to a beautiful and immensely sought-after part of the north Cornish coastline, with some of the county’s most celebrated beaches a stone’s throw from the hotel.”

Like all Pig properties, the hotel will feature a restaurant that is focused on produce from the kitchen garden. In addition, it will offer the Pig Sty, with a wood-fired oven and barbecue, offering grilled dishes, flatbreads and drinks aimed at guests returning from a day at the beach.

The main house will feature 11 bedrooms, while a further 15 will be located in the stables. There will also be four of “the largest, most comfortable, sexiest shepherd’s huts on the planet”.

Judy Hutson will oversee the interior design, which will incorporate two potting sheds to be used for massages and facials.

Rooms will start from £155 per night.

The eighth hotel to join the Pig litter will be launched in spring 2021 near Arundel, West Sussex, as the Pig in the South Downs. The Pig portfolio also includes hotels in New Forest (Brockenhurst); near Bath; Studland, Dorset; Combe, Devon; Bridge, near Canterbury; and Southampton.
