Harriet Mansell announces closure of Robin Wylde along with ‘new chapter and direction’

Chef Harriet Mansell has announced that 23 September will be “the last night in our current format and home” for her restaurant Robin Wylde in Lyme Regis, Dorset.

In October, the team will be returning the keys of 63a Silver Street to the landlord after four years; however, nearby sister restaurant Lilac will remain open.

A post on the restaurant’s Instagram page said: “Please rest assured that this isn’t the end, but rather we are planning a new chapter and direction for Harriet and the team. Lilac will remain a mainstay in our local community. We intend to see it flourish and will be pouring our hearts into making it the best it can be.

“There are lots of exciting events, opportunities and plans afoot – including a project that is very close to Harriet’s heart. So stay tuned for more details, which we will be releasing over the coming weeks.”

Having previously run the concept as a pop-up, Mansell opened Robin Wylde, her first solo restaurant, in October 2020. The venue focuses on seasonal West Country produce with a menu inspired by local history and folklore.

Lilac, a wine bar and small plates concept just a two-minute walk away, opened the following year.
