Five Guys sees revenue increase to £90m

Burger chain Five Guys has reported a 43% revenue increase to £90.4m in its full year results to 25 December 2016.

 

The brand's UK company, Five Guys JV, includes 59 UK stores, 19 which opened over the course of 2016, and four new sites in France and Spain.

 

The company's financial accounts filed with Companies House report adjusted EBITDA of £10.5m (up 9.3%), but a net loss of £13.4m (down 59.5%). According to the report, pre-opening costs amounted to approximately £7.3m of the loss.

 

The company said sales growth was driven by new store openings and improved core store performance, and UK revenue in particular grew by 36% from £63.3m to £86.2m.

 

The report also said: "The directors continue to believe that there are strong growth prospects in the premium burger market and intend to continue the rapid roll out of Five Guys in the UK and Europe."
