The first images of 19 Motcomb Street, which occupies the former Pantechnicon building in London’s Knightsbridge, have been revealed.

The Japanese-Nordic dining and retail space first opened in September 2020 but closed this summer to undergo an extensive refurbishment.

19 Motcomb Street will open tomorrow (6 November) with three new F&B outlets: Provençal restaurant Amélie, Japanese restaurant Sachi and late-night lounge Luum.

Amélie

Amélie is located on the ground floor, offering Mediterranean flavours from head chef Steve Raveneau and general manager Rudolph Galand. The restaurant features a mezzanine dining area and an outdoor terrace inspired by the Côte d’Azur.

The menu includes the likes of tuna tartar, avocado, piquillo dressing; truffle pizzetta; chargrilled chicken, Provençal jus; orzo pasta and whole blue native lobster.

Sachi

Meanwhile, Japanese restaurant Sachi occupies the second floor and offers an omakase counter and open kitchen. It is also home to the Sachi rooftop bar, where guests can enjoy cocktails and sharing plates.

The team is led by culinary director chef Kyung-Soo Moon, head chef Joonsu Park and general manager Andreas Gonzalez, who was formerly at D&D London and Bob Bob Ricard.

Luum

Finally, general manager Stefano Chilà, formerly of Chiltern Firehouse and Annabel’s, is overseeing late-night lounge Luum. It pays homage to Mexican heritage and culture and features a mix of rich colours and textures.

It will serve cocktails such as Purple Roots (tequila, mezcal, sherry, purple carrot and black pepper) and Prickly Fingers (tequila, lime and cactus pear) alongside a selection of small plates from Mexican chef Coko Becker.
