Dan Loftin has been announced as the new executive head chef of private members' club Home House in London.
Reporting directly to Home House Collection managing director Andrew Richardson, Loftin has been appointed to bolster the executive team and shape the food philosophy at the group’s two Marylebone clubs – Home House and Home Grown.
He joins the business from Searcys, where he was executive chef at the Gherkin. Previous experience also includes roles at the Royal London House, and head chef at D&D London’s Kensington Place.
The role of executive chef was previously held by Sophie Michell who left the business after 14 months to take up the position of food director at burger chain Byron.
Commenting on Loftin’s appointment, Richardson said: “It is the perfect time to bring Dan on board. He totally understands our vision and ambition and has great ideas to take our food offering to the next level.
“He understands the British roots, and the eccentric, playful attitude of our members and how to bring that idea to life through food.”
Representatives of Searcys said development chef Shawn Rowlands has been heading the kitchen at the Gherkin since Loftin's departure last year and the business is not currently seeking a replacement.
