Aviko launches Home Delivery Insight Report

Potato products supplier Aviko has launched a report to help operators capitalise on delivery and takeaway in the wake of Covid-19.

Available to download for free here, the Home Delivery Report 2020 highlights how the industry can drive profitability through delivery, which the NPD Group predicts to be the only part of the UK eating-out market to show year-on-year growth by February 2021.

Of consumers surveyed, 98% had ordered delivery or takeaway during lockdown. The report also reveals that on average, repeat customers spend 67% more than new customers.

The report also provides advice on how to maximise profitability, including the benefits of cutting out the middleman and setting up direct online ordering – something 70% of customers said they’d prefer to do with their local restaurant.

Mohammed Essa, commercial director UK and Irelandfor Aviko, said: “This latest edition to our ‘Delivery Ready’ hub offers robust insights, as well as actionable pointers to help make the most of the growing opportunity for delivery. Along with offering a range of products that you can rely on; this comprehensive report is another way in which we are committed to partnering with operators to help them get back on track.”
