‘American-inspired' Hubbox expands into Wales from the south west
‘American-inspired' casual-dining concept Hubbox will expand into its first site outside of south-west England after signing a deal to bring the brand to Cardiff.
The independent chain will launch its eighth outlet in the Welsh capital's Mermaid Quay, moving into a 3,000 sq ft unit with outdoor seating in this coming autumn.
The offering will be carried on from its predecessors, with a focus on US-inspired flavours including burgers, steaks and kebabs, along with a range of drinks including craft beer and malt-shakes.
However, with its focus on local produce, the firm will look to Welsh suppliers as opposed to its tried and tested south-west food and drink available from other outlets.
Richard Boon, Hubbox's chief executive, said: "My wife is from South Wales, we used to visit Cardiff Bay a lot when we first met and she was living there. I have liked the location and the Mermaid Quay scheme since then.
