Carl Davies-Phillips named general manager of Hotel Indigo Stratford-upon-Avon

Carl Davies-Phillips has been named general manager of the Hotel Indigo Stratford-upon-Avon ahead of its opening next month.

Davies-Phillips joins the property having previously worked at InterContinental Hotels Group's (IHG) Holiday Inn Express Cardiff Airport, where he was general manager.

He said: "When I saw the position advertised, I jumped at the chance as I know what a fantastic brand Hotel Indigo is. Taking the class, style and customer attention of the boutique hotel concept and combining it with the IHG brand gives us something very special.

"Hotel Indigo is all about the neighbourhood and we are very fortunate to have one like ours in Stratford-upon-Avon and a property that fits so handsomely into it."

Kerry-Ann Markham (pictured) has been appointed director of sales.

The Grade-II listed hotel has undergone a multimillion-pound restoration and will reopen under IHG's boutique brand with 93 bedrooms as well as the Woodman's Restaurant, the Falcon Tearooms and a cocktail bar.

Mike Robinson, co-owner of the Michelin-starred Harwood Arms in Fulham, will be at the helm of the restaurant, where he will showcase his passion for British produce and sustainable wild food.

Robinson will take the position of executive chef, working with head chef Jon Coates. A wood-fired oven and charcoal grill will be a focal point of the restaurant, allowing diners to watch the chefs prepare British deer, wild boar, beef and Hebridean lamb.
