Hilton plans Garden Inn at Surf Snowdonia

Advanced discussions are under way to open a 106-bedroom Hilton Garden Inn as part of a £16m investment into the facilities at Surf Snowdonia.

The 300m artificial surf pool at Dolgarrog in Conwy is set to rebrand as Adventure Parc Snowdonia next summer, with the lagoon-side hotel (the first Hilton Garden Inn in Wales) set to be operational from 2020. Jobs will be advertised from early next year.

The new facilities will include two new indoor and outdoor adventure activity centres, which will feature a mountain bike trail, climbing walls, artificial caves, slides and a zip wire. The property will also have a spa and conference facilities.

Andy Ainscough, managing director of Surf Snowdonia, said: "Our investment in phase two is all about building on what we've established over the last three years: a flagship adventure destination for Wales and the UK."

Jim Jones, managing director of North Wales Tourism, added: "The fact that the team are looking to invest further in a new state of the art, all-year indoor attraction and hotel is further testament to the confidence of our adventure offer."
