Sutton and Sons turns Hackney Central fish and chip shop into vegan-only venue

The new outlet, which will replace fish with an alternative made from bananna blossom, will launch on 4 October, offering a bespoke menu of gourmet vegan fast food dishes and desserts.

Many of the dishes were first trialled as a ‘Veganuary' package. The company went on to roll out vegan menus at its Stoke Newington and Essex Road branches before deciding to create the vegan-only venture.

The opening, which will replace its current Hackney Central site, will also mean an expansion of the East London chippy chain. The branch currently operating from the location will now relocate a few doors down to make way for the vegan sister site.

Danny Sutton, owner of Sutton and Sons, said: "We've been completely gob-smacked by the popularity of our vegan menu.

"People have visited us from all over the country just to try our take on vegan fish.

"We didn't have space in the Hackney branch like at Stoke Newington and Essex Road to provide the vegan menu, so we are chuffed to now provide a space dedicated to our new vegan customers."
