Aramark picks up Birmingham Botanical Gardens partnership

Aramark Northern Europe has picked up a five-year contract with Birmingham Botanical Gardens.

The agreement will see the contract caterer create a new botanical look and feel in the Pavilion café, as well as new seasonal, sustainable menus for the café and the venue's event spaces, designed by Aramark's culinary director Paul Bloxham.

Birmingham Botanical Gardens first opened in 1832. The 15-acre educational charity is one of only two pre-Victorian botanical gardens that remain independent in the UK. It has four glasshouses, an aviary, wildlife trails and a seasonal butterfly house, and is home to more than 7,000 different plant species.

Richard Arnell, regional director at Aramark, said "Customers can look forward to fresh, delicious dishes, supported by impeccable service. Our menus will enhance the visitor experience with a commitment to using fresh foods in season from local suppliers."

James Wheeler, chief executive and curator of Birmingham Botanical Gardens, added: "It was important that we found a partner who understood our approach to great food and I'm delighted that we have found that partner in Aramark. Their plan to use locally sourced ingredients and renovate the café is incredibly exciting, for our visitors and staff alike."

Aramark works across the business and industry, education, healthcare, manufacturing and defence sectors. Earlier this year Aramark announced an exclusive 10-year deal with the Jamie Oliver Group, as it looks to expand its B&I operations, which will bring Jamie Oliver concepts to workplaces in the UK.
