The Ned opens 17th bar

The Ned London has opened Library Bar, the hotel's 17th bar in addition to its nine restaurants.

Library Bar seats 18, with a menu featuring 30 Champagnes, sold by the glass or bottle, a martini trolley making blends to order and a selection of classic house cocktails.

House cocktails include the ‘breakfast at Emily's', mixing Star of Bombay with Cointreau, marmalade and toast essence, citrus and Champagne (£16); while ‘the royale punch' blends Remy Martin VSOP, peach, earl grey, citrus cordial and anis with Champagne (£16).

Three ‘vintage' cocktails have also been created by the Ned's bartenders taking inspiration from drinks created in the early 1800s, each one including vintage vermouths and rare spirits.

A curated collection of cognac can also be sampled in a crystal brandy balloon or in a premium Champagne cocktail. Options include Martell Cordon Bleu (£28), HINE Antique XO (£30) and Rémy Martin Louis XIII (£250).

The Champagne collection includes Perrier-Jouët Blanc de Blancs (£21), Dom Pérignon (£38), and the Bollinger Grande Année Rosé (£32).

The Ned's executive chef, Michele Nargi, has devised a selection of dishes to complement the drinks, including caviar (from £80), manchego and chorizo bon bons (£10), wagyu beef tartare (£15) and truffle pizzetta (£15).

Located next to Cecconi's on the ground floor, the intimate space has a 1930s design with restored antique furniture, a selection of retro cocktail books and a bar clad in oxblood leather panelling.

Chairs feature in bronze and deep red velvet and a bespoke brass bar back is inspired by Edward Lutyens, the architect who designed the building.
