Derby Brewing Co to crowdfund expansion plans

Derby Brewing Company will be releasing up to 10% of the business to crowdfunding investors in order to fund its expansion plans.

The company will be launching a crowdfunding campaign on Crowdcube later this month seeking investment to fund its development of a craft beer range, develop its existing venues, open new venues, expand its brewery, and ultimately launch the business worldwide.

Shareholders will receive dividends and rewards depending on the level of investment, with opportunities ranging from £100 to £25,000, and a range of benefits including samples of new beers, discounts, AGM invitations and parties.

Derby Brewing Company was founded in 2004 by Trevor Harris and now owns four venues in and around Derby: the Tap and the Greyhound in Derby; the Queen's Head in Little Eaton; and the boutique hotel, bar and restaurant Kedleston Country House, Quarndon.

Managing director Paul Harris said: "Our goal is to make 2017 a big year, launching our new crafted range, developing our venues, opening a new site, as well as sharing our great beers with the world. Going forward there are many options for continued growth across a number of markets."

Director of brewing Trevor Harris added: "It's incredible to see the continued evolution of the business. We love the idea of the people of Derby and further afield becoming part of our exciting plans."
