City Social, Karnavar, Ox and Ynyshir Hall make final shortlist for 2015 Menu of the Year Catey
Following the judging for the Menu of the Year Catey 2015, sponsored by Quorn, The Caterer has unveiled the final shortlist.
Nominees were selected from all the menus featured on the Menuwatch page of the Chef section of The Caterer over the past 12 months, and were judged on innovation within the price bracket of that particular establishment or contract; good use of seasonal produce on the menu; creativity of the dishes being served; careful marrying of textures and flavours of the component ingredients; value for money; and seeing the menu or selection of dishes, would you be tempted to eat there.
The four finalists are:
• Ynyshir Hall, Eglwysfach, Powys
The ultimate winner will remain a secret until the award is presented at the Cateys on 7 July at London's Grosvenor House, A JW Marriott Hotel.
Judges for the prestigious award include Clare Smyth, chef-patron of Restaurant Gordon Ramsay, 2012 Menu of the Year Catey winner Jeremy Lee of Quo Vadis, 2014 Menu of the Year winner Bruno Loubet of Grain Store, AA group area manager Giovanna Grossi, and James Mackenzie, chef-patron of 2013 Pub and Bar Award winner the Pipe and Glass Inn in Beverley, Yorkshire.
The Caterer Awards, now in their 32nd year and also known as the Cateys, will take place on 7 July 2015. To explore sponsorship opportunities contact Rob Adam at rob.adam@thecaterer.com. For all ticket enquiries, please contact Martha Allardyce at martha.allardyce@thecaterer.com.
